Certify documents issued in South Korea for official use in Europe and abroad.
Apostilles in South Korea can be obtained to authenticate official Korean documents such as Certificates of Family Relations, Criminal Record Certificates (범죄· 수사경력 회보서), Korean university diplomas, Certificates of Origin (COO), certificates issued by the National Tax Service, and documents certified by a Korean notary.
Korean Apostille stamps are issued by the Overseas Koreans Agency (documents issued by central or local government agencies) and the Ministry of Justice (Notarized documents).
Documents needed for submission in non-apostille countries are legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and require additional attestation by the embassy of the recipient country in Seoul.
We offer expedited apostille services in Korean. Apostilles in Korea can normally be obtained in 2-3 working days

Legalize Korean Documents
Korean documents can be legalized for cross-border use by means of Apostille Certification or Consular Legalization
Apostille Certification
An Apostille Stamp is a simplified procedure of international attestation. When affixed to documents, Apostilles are directly recognised by the authorities of over 120 countries (Signatories of the Hague Apostille Convention) as certifying the document’s validity, without requiring additional certification.
Since South Korea is a signatory to the convention, Isarey can assist by obtaining Apostille Certification for Korean documents so that they are valid for official use in other signatory countries, including: Netherlands - Spain - Italy - Portugal - Greece - Cyprus - France - Saudi Arabia - Germany - China
Consular Legalization
Consular Legalization is required when a document from South Korea is to be used in a non-signatory country. In this case, following authentication by authorities in South Korea, the document must be certified a second time in South Korea by the embassy representing the country where the document is to be used.
Where Korean documents are to be used abroad and where the receiving country has a different official language, certified translation may also be required. Isarey takes care of any certified translations required as part of the document attestation process, ensuring that translations are carried out and certified in accordance with local regulations.
Note that a certified translation on its own only provides assurance that the translation itself is accurate and true; it does not confirm the authenticity of the original document. The original document must be legalized for a certified translation to carry equivalent legal weight.

Korean background checks are issued by the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) to Korean nationals and foreign nationals who have previously lived in Korea. Certificates are issued in English and Korean, and are valid for a single country of use and purpose.
Applications in Korea: Persons requiring a criminal record certificate for the purpose of foreign visa or residency applications should request a Criminal (Investigation) Records Check Reply (범죄· 수사경력 회보서). Applications in Korea may be submitted online. Applicants (or an authorized representative) will then need to visit a Korean Police Station (in Korean) to process the application.
Applications from outside Korea: From outside Korea, applications should be made through a South Korean Embassy (applicants will need to visit the embassy in person).
